Zach Jackson

Zachary Jackson is a Research and Policy Analyst for the Demographics Research Group at the University of Virginia Weldon Cooper Center for Public Service. He will be responsible for leading the center’s school enrollment projections. 

Zach’s area of interest is leveraging mixed methods to inform decision making and position organizations for success. Prior to joining the Weldon Cooper Center, Zach served as an Economic Development Specialist at the Virginia Tech Center for Economic and Community Engagement. In this role, he led and contributed to applied economic research projects for public and private-sector clients. Most recently, Zach worked as a Business Analyst within the University of Virginia’s central finance department, where he was responsible for crafting strategies aimed at increasing institutional spending with local and/or disadvantaged businesses.  

Zach received both a B.A. and M.S. in Urban and Regional Planning from Virginia Tech’s College of Architecture and Urban Studies. He strives to deliver on the land-grant mission of his alma mater and is proud to continue his career of public service at the Weldon Cooper Center.
