Mary Beth Witherell's Biography
Mary Beth Witherell brings over 30 years of Information Technology experience in higher education to the Cooper Center. Her UVA career began in the School of Engineering, followed by a stint in UVA Medical Center Computing. Originally hired by the Virginia Institute of Government, Mary Beth and her colleague, Allen Saunders, now support all Cooper Center projects/operations, which involve diverse IT technologies and platforms.
Originally from Tennessee, Mary Beth attended UVA and earned a bachelor’s degree from the McIntire School of Commerce with dual concentrations in Management Information Systems and Marketing. She earned her MBA from East Tennessee State University. Mary Beth has pursued continuing education through completion of Microsoft and Apple Certifications, JAMF training, and coursework in UVA’s Masters in MIS program and the School of Continuing and Professional Studies Cybersecurity Management Program.
